Seminar Adapting the Icelandic Model for the Prevention of Drug Use: progress three years after its implementation

Since 2018, the University of Chile has been accompanying the adaptation and implementation of the Icelandic Prevention Model in 6 communes of the Metropolitan Region of Chile, through a collaborative work with the municipalities of Colina, Lo Barnechea, Las Condes, Melipilla, Peñalolén and Renca, and the FONIS Project N° SA19I0152 "Acceptability, feasibility and effectiveness of a model of prevention of substance use in adolescents", of the National Agency for Research and Development – ANID.

This seminar has been organized by the prevention team of the Addictions Unit of the University Psychiatric Clinic belonging to the Clinical Hospital of the University of Chile and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Chile and is being sponsored by ISSUP-Chile.

This seminar, aimed at technicians and professionals working in the field of substance use, seeks to share the results and experience of adaptation and implementation of the Icelandic model of prevention in 6 Chilean communes, in addition to addressing the challenges of considering this model as a public policy.
