Smoking, and the desire to smoke, cigarettes amongst high school students in the United States is currently at an all-time low, according to a recent article published in Preventing Chronic Disease. The study found that between 2012 – 2014 the percentage of cigarette ever-use amongst students fell from 26.4% to 22.4%. Similarly, the percentage of cigar ever-use fell from 21.2% to 17.6%. Project leaders also note an increase in the percentage of students who have never used, or are even curious about using, either cigarettes or cigars between the same two-year period.
