Call for Master Trainers for the Case Care Management Project

Brief Description:

The Executive Secretariat of the Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (ES-CICAD) is seeking expressions of interest from experts in the field of alternatives to incarceration and social integration to be trained as Master Trainers for the delivery of the Case Care Management curriculum internationally. Upon successful completion of the Training of Trainers, these Master Trainers will be included on the Case Care Management roster of trainers and can be contacted to deliver the training when scheduled. General requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of work experience in the treatment, recovery, or social integration of persons with problematic substance use disorders.

  • Confirmation of willingness and ability to travel on an as-needed basis for future trainings.

  • Proven ability to deliver training in-person and virtually.

  • Confirmation of availability to participate in the in-person CCM Master Training to be held in Washington D.C. from June 1-4, 2022, or virtually, in the event that the conditions for traveling are not secured due to the exceptional circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Confirmation of willingness to continue on-going engagement as a Master Trainer by participation in posting training opportunities and training outcomes on the website of the International Society of Substance Use Professional (ISSUP). Prior affiliation or participation in ISSUP activities is an asset.

  • Fluent in English and/or Spanish.

 

Knowledge and Criteria for Selection of Master Trainers

  • Knowledge of the science of substance use disorders and the critical elements to support people in recovery.

  • Knowledge of the challenges justice-involved individuals face in their recovery and social integration.

  • Knowledge of the hypothesis and research regarding substance use disorders and justice involvement.

  • Knowledge of the key actors in the justice, health and social sectors who collaborate in the rehabilitation and social integration of justice-involved individuals with substance use disorders.

  • Knowledge of the critical elements, processes and models of social integration or re-entry of justice involved individuals with substance use disorders.

  • Knowledge of best practices and social interventions for strengthening social integration processes for Justice involved individuals with substance use disorders.

  • Knowledge of the community-based resources available to justice involved individuals with substance use disorders to support their recovery and social integration process.

  • Knowledge of ethical aspects and standards of trauma informed interventions to meet the needs of justice involved individuals with substance use disorders.

Experience and Skills for Selection of Master Trainers

  • Experience in the assessment of needs and strengths of justice involved individuals with substance use disorders.

  • Experience in the planning and implementing linkages with community resources for justice involved individuals with substance use disorders.

  • Experience in undertaking / coordinating alternatives to incarceration initiatives at the local, national, or international level.

  • Experience as a Case Manager as well as (or) working with justice involved individuals with substance use disorders.

  • Experience in the design and implementation of social integration models, programs, projects, or initiatives.

  • Experience in group facilitation and leadership.

  • Experience in professional teaching, training and/or public speaking.
