Lyra Thompson-Hollingsworth

Ms. Lyra Thompson-Hollingsworth, Coordinator, National Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Programme (N.A.D.A.P.P.), Ministry of Health, is a Drug Demand Reduction professional, with over a decade worth of experience in the areas of research, project planning, implementation and monitoring and evaluation, particularly as it relates to substance abuse prevention.

 

In her public service career, she has held positions such as Senior Research Officer, Social Investigations Division, and Director, Disability Affairs Unit, Ministry of Social Development and Family Services. She has worked at the National Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Programme during the period 2007-2017, serving as Research Officers I&II, Project Analyst II and Acting Coordinator. In November 2019 she was duly appointed as the substantive Coordinator. Over the years, she has developed a passion for substance abuse prevention and related activities. Her contribution to the organization is extremely valuable, especially as she has developed good relationships with its key stakeholders and partners.

 

She is extensively trained, as she holds a Masters of Science Degree in Sociology, a Postgraduate Diploma in International Relations and a Bachelors of Science Degree in Sociology and Management Studies. Additionally, she has been trained in basic and advanced Addiction Studies and other relevant areas, including:
