Research Assistant- University of Hull

This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated researcher to join a highly experienced research programme funded by the National Institute for Health Research (21/614 HSDR) entitled Programme of Research for Alcohol Care Teams: Impact, Value and Effectiveness (ProACTIVE). 

The ProACTIVE research consortium are seeking the appointment of several research assistants across the three years of the project. This position relates to the position based within the Institute for Clinical and Applied Health Research, Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Hull. The post holder will be accountable to Professor Thomas Phillips and report to the Research Fellow/Trial Manager. They will also work closely with the Hull Health Trials Unit (HHTU), and Professor Sinclair, University of Southampton.

The successful candidate will support the implementation of a cross-sectional national survey of alcohol services based within NHS hospitals in England and recruit patients with lived experience of alcohol dependence to a quasi-experimental trial. The survey will identify the nature and scope of hospital-based alcohol service provision across England which will inform the additional work packages, including the trial. The trial will be conducted across six NHS hospital sites and will involve the recruitment and follow-up of study participants at 6 months.
