You have until 21st September to indicate interest in the SUPERNet! Do not miss on your opportunity to join!
The SUPERNet project is looking for individuals engaged in practice, research or policy in the field of substance use, with an interest to engage in networking and joint learning to create innovations and bridge the gaps between different actors in the field.
SUPERNet is interested in ‘early career’ researchers or innovators which COST defines as anyone working or researching in the field below 40 years of age. However, we are also looking for established researchers or innovators who can act in a mentorship or supervisory capacity. COST Action network projects also require a gender balance. We invite all interested organisations to nominate balanced teams that account for these factors. The participation will require engagement with the e-COST platform. More detailed information about this process will be shared with participants in due time.
SUPERNet will support the networking and capacity building of SIRP researchers and innovators in the fields of health promotion, prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery. SUPERNet will connect researchers and innovators, especially early career professionals working in inclusiveness target countries, with civil society organisations, service providers, higher education institutions, professional associations, authorities/supranational organisations, technical agencies and international organisations, media, and/or people with lived and/or living experience of substance use -related issues. SUPERNet’s main goal is to advance the substance use SIRP environment to enable innovative and cooperative multi stakeholder and interdisciplinary initiatives around current and emerging issues in the field.
Informed by this goal, SUPERNet will focus on a range of current and emerging issues in the field aiming to:
i) improve the agility and effectiveness of SIRP responses to rapidly changing drug market/use trends;
ii) enhance the involvement of key stakeholders and expertise (with an emphasis on involving people with lived or living experience of substance use) and addressing under-served populations and knowledge gaps such as sex and gender issues, migrant and displaced populations and homelessness
iii) promote the adoption of evidence-based SIRP frameworks;
iv) support the wellbeing of service staff and researchers;
v) promote a total quality management approach to SIRP delivery and evaluation;
vi) explore use of digitalisation and artificial intelligence for evidence gathering and dissemination.
