The "Green List Prevention" in Germany encompasses a rich array of programmes aimed at preventing various behavioural issues among children and young individuals, including violence, crime, and addictive behaviours. These initiatives operate within different spheres, spanning from family and parental education to skill development among youth, with applications in day care centres, schools, and neighbourhood settings. However, despite this extensive range of programmes, there is a notable scarcity of high-quality evaluation studies that can confirm their effectiveness.

In light of the limited evaluation research, the "Green List Prevention" database steps in to provide a comprehensive overview of recommended prevention strategies within the family, school, children/young people, and neighbourhood domains. It sets clear criteria to determine which programmes have the potential to be successful and, crucially, how and where they can be effectively applied to support the development of children and young people. The database also delves into the prevention methods employed by these programmes, addressing how they hinder the emergence or persistence of problem behaviours. Additionally, it offers insights into the known results and the efficacy of these programmes.

Moreover, the database facilitates targeted searches, allowing users to filter programmes based on criteria such as the addressed problem behaviour, the age group of the target audience, or the operational area (institution). This functionality supports the enhancement of local service structures.
