The official unveiling ceremony of ISSUP Niger State Branch was held in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Niger State Command and the Niger State government on 26th February, 2024 at the Legbo Kutigi International Conference Center, Minna, Niger State.
The event was held alongside a one-day Drug Sensitization Programme for Secondary School Principals in Niger State. The ceremony started with the registration of participants (Principals) followed by the arrival of invited guests then the arrival of the Zonal and State Commanders and subsequently the arrival of His Excellency Executive Governor of Niger State ably represented by the Hon. Commissioner of Education Niger State in person of Dr. Jonathan Wassa.
The event commenced with the first lecture which was delivered by Alhaji. Yahya Omba ACGN (Rtd) former Zonal Commander Zone ‘C’ with the topic: “The Role of Schools in the Fight Against the Menace of Drug Abuse”. The lecture was followed by an interactive session by the participants and the resource person.
Next in the agenda was the official unveiling of ISSUP Niger State Branch by the Commander NDLEA Niger State Command in person of Mr. Musa Bwalin CN ably supported by the representative of the Executive Governor of Niger State and members of ISSUP Niger State Branch. The event was a success with a very good number of persons showing interest to register as members of ISSUP.
The second lecture was presented by Dr. Mohammed Ksaka Jibrin (Rtd) mni with the topic: “Drug Abuse Prevention, Treatment and Control”. It was also followed by an interactive session by the participants. The next was presentation of certificates and a vote of thanks by A.G. Zonal Commander Zone ‘C’ comprising Niger, Kwara and Kogi State.
