Book Unveiling Ceremony of 'The Known and Unknowns of Drug Dependence'

Drug use has been identified as one of the ominous problems that the society faces nowadays. Every drug dependent person has different and complex difficulties to go through in the process of recovering from such harmful habit. Person-centered treatment strategy is thus essential for each drug dependent patient. The treatment not only requires the involvement of the patients, but also the involvement of their families and the community is crucial. However, the family members request many questions to be answered about the drug dependence and their treatment programs, which need to be addressed in order to motivate them coming out of the indecision and confusions. Firsthand experience from being involved with Dhaka Ahsania Mission activities against drug use for 21 years and apprehending such scenarios, inspired the author Mr Iqbal Masud to write the book “Madok Nirvorshilotar Jana OjanaKotha”(The known and unknowns of drug dependence)

The unveiling ceremony of the book was held in the meeting room of the Ministry of Home Affairs on 19 February 2019. Honorable Minister Mr Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal MP was present in the occasion as a chief guest. Mr Md Jamal Uddin Ahmed, Director General, Department of Narcotics Control was present during the ceremony as the Special guest,

Among the other guests, Mr Kazi Rafiqul Alam, President, Dhaka Ahsania Mission was also present at the occasion.The unveiling ceremony was presided by Mr Md Shahiduzzaman, honorable Secretary-in-Charge, Security Services Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs. An address of welcome was made by Mr Mofidul Haque, Director, Sahitya Prakash.

It is worth mention-able that the book “Madok Nirvorshilotar Jana Ojana Kotha” will be an aid to address many queries of the family members for the treatment of the drug-dependent individuals. It will also help the addiction professionals to answer such questions efficiently. The book is available at the 136, 137, 138 and 139 Shahityo Prokash stalls in the book fair.
