‘Community coalitions’ is a preventative strategy that coordinates activities and resources to reduce adolescent substance use and delinquent behaviour, mobilising communities in the promotion of health and prevention initiatives.
Communities That Care (CTC) aims to combat adolescent health and behavioural problems by identifying various risk factors, before applying known to be successful prevention and intervention measures.
This publication offers an analysis of five studies that evaluate the effectiveness of CTC, conducted primarily in settings beyond the EU.
The conclusion reached is that further investigation of this particularly model within the European context is needed.
