2019 AATOD Conference
The American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence, Inc. 2019 conference will be held on October 19-23, 2019, at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort.
The theme of the conference is titled Out of the Shadows: Managing the Opioid Epidemic through the Continuum of Care. The event hopes to open up a discussion about ways in which care can address the number one public health crisis and prevent the concerning numbers of lives lost as a result of opioid overdoses. There is an urgent need to increase the quality, expertise, access, and reputation of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) across the continuum of care
The workshop committee are currently accepting abstracts for workshop and poster sessions that present innovative ideas and research, new treatment techniques and examples of evidence based practice within the field of MAT.
Suggested topics include:
- Patient Care & Best Practices
- Workforce Development
- Community Partners & the Continuum of Care
- Public Policy/Regulatory and Financial Issues
- Opioid Abuse as a Public Health Crisis and Overdose as an Epidemic
The conference will allow professionals to work together and develop strategies that will facilitate the integration of evidenced treatment and identify misinformation and stigma surrounding the opioid crisis.
