ICUDDR Course Solicitation

ICUDDR NIDA

There is still time to submit an application to ICUDDR's course solicitation that closes on 4th December, 2020.

ICUDDR and the International Society for Addiction Journal Editors (ISAJE) have teamed up to support a university in the development of an academic course on writing for peer review journals.

This solicitation will provide support to one university from a low or middle income country with an education program in drug demand reduction, to develop an academic course designed to improve the publication of research findings. The project is made possible with funding from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA).

Eligible institutions are invited to apply to design and develop an elective academic course on preparing, writing, reviewing, and managing scientific manuscripts/papers for specialized, peer-reviewed, international journals; based on the ISAJE materials and publication Publishing Addiction Science (3rd edition).

Eligibility

To be considered, the proposed course must be included in a medical school, PhD, post-graduate diploma, or continuing education program that includes coursework in research and expects that graduates will conduct and publish research.

What is offered

We will select one university under this solicitation. The university that is selected to work with the ISAJE/ICUDDR team to develop and launch the new course will receive a stipend of $10,000 USD to offset faculty and administrative costs of new course development, particularly as it relates to time working with subject matter experts and the ISAJE/ICUDDR committee.

How to apply

Full solicitation terms (including scoring criteria) and application requirements are available here (PDF)

Applications will be due December 4, 2020 and applicants will be informed of decision by December 18, 2020. The successful applicant should expect to begin work by the second week of January 2021. It will be expected that a course will be developed and ready to launch in the fall 2021 semester.
