Abstract:

  • International Collaboration Activities: Which role for ECMAPS in tackling global health challenges? - Sophia Achab

International collaboration is key for tackling global health challenges faced due to addictive disorders. ECAMPS play important roles in development and management of addiction treatment services globally. By virtue of connecting ECAMPS globally their understanding and treatment management skills can be enhanced. The effective collaboration can also help in improving existing training gaps and capacity building. The ISAM NExT has presence of members from more than 20 affiliated societies of ISAM and collaborates with networks for early career professionals in the field. The presentation will cover topics of importance in global health which could benefit from future international collaborations (e.g. preparedness for emerging addictive disorders; gender, diversity and performance; and expert elicitation in global surveys).

Learning objectives
  • Identifying global health challenges to tackle by new generations of addiction medicine professionals
  • Presenting ways to tackle these challenges explored by ISAM NExT subcommittee
