On October 15th, the beginning of the Youth Leaders Forum on Substance Use Prevention in Guatemala in virtual mode. The activity aimed at young people between 18 and 26 years old seeks for participants to take advantage of strategies to develop substance consumption prevention projects, which are based on evidence and have an impact on their immediate surroundings. With them, young people assume a leading role in the prevention of substance use, to be key agents for the development of initiatives, acquiring knowledge and skills that can be transferred to other context situations. This experience will empower you by giving you tools to assume greater responsibility, make informed decisions and strengthen your leadership skills to make a significant impact in the community. We hope with excitement that the second part of the activity scheduled from the week of the 22nd to the 26th of October begins in person at the School of Psychological Sciences of the University of San Carlos de Guatemala.
The forum is a product of the collaboration of the International Society of Professionals in the Use of Substances (ISSUP), the School of Psychological Sciences of the University of San Carlos with the Section of Antinarcotic Affairs and Law Enforcement (INL), the Inter-American Commission for Drug Abuse Control (CICAD/OEA), and Cooperation for Addiction Prevention (COPRAES).
