This newly established full-time research post at the Institute for Social Marketing & Health, University of Stirling offers a rare, exciting and high-profile opportunity for an outstanding researcher to join our world-leading Institute on an open-ended contract. ISMH leads and collaborates with other leading research teams on diverse alcohol research, including on population-wide policies such as marketing, labelling, availability and pricing, industry activity and the policy process. The post-holder will play a key role in preparing for ISMH to apply to establish a WHO Collaborating Centre for alcohol policy research & capacity building as well as taking forward a separate portfolio of alcohol research activities.
The successful candidate will be invited to shape and expand their portfolio of work in line with their interests and expertise, in collaboration with ISMH colleagues and external partner organisations including WHO. It is expected that their work will include research and capacity building in, but not limited to, low/middle income countries, and will inform a work plan for a new WHO Collaborating Centre. Development of new international studies in the global South, as well as Scottish/UK elements of international comparative studies would also be welcomed. It is expected that the successful candidate will support and lead the drafting of research proposals related to the post-holder’s interests and the needs of the post, in collaboration with ISMH colleagues
