The Journey of a Village Boy Pakistan to a Global Man
Mr. Ahmad Shah Inspiration from the 6th Asian Youth Congress Bali, Indonesia in 2008. The Asian Youth Congress was organized by Colombo Plan and supported by INL, U.S Department of State. This was a major breakthrough in my career from where I channelized my motivation and activities in the field of Substance Use prevention & youth empowerment . Having the support of INL, US Department of State and other Organizations Mr, shah have been to different countries, and engaged with different youth empowerment and drug prevention programs, mainly in: Pakistan, USA, Turkey, Indonesia, Bhutan, Afghanistan, Thailand, Malaysia, Bangladesh , Sri Lanka, Turkey and Kenya.
Ahmad is from the remote valley of Arkari in the Chitral district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province,Pakistan and serves member of ISSUP global, as an Exchange Ambassador with U.S. Embassy Pakistan and Youth Program Coordinator for the Drug Free Pakistan Foundation (DFPF), which promotes drug abuse prevention intervention & promoting peace among different communities, and was awarded “Best SMART Project” in the 3rd Pakistan Youth Congress. Ahmad also served as many National & International organizations like as a Project Manager –Youth Development Foundation (YDF) & Training Officer & Field Coordinator - Focus Humanitarian Assistance Pakistan, an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). Along with his daily job Ahmad shah also working as a Consultant with Aga Khan Rural Support (AKRSP) in their drug abuse prevention project in GilgitBalistan Chitral (GBC). Ahmad has also participated in a number of international youth initiatives, including , received Prestigious Global Runner UP Award in the field of Drug Demand Reduction (DDR) in Early Career category during ISSUP Conference 10th -14th December 2018 Nairobi, Kenya, Participated Afghanistan – Pakistan Partnership Summit: Workable Solution for New ERA 4th – 8th May 2018, Istanbul, Turkey, The Pilot Training of Master Trainers on the Universal Prevention Curriculum for Substance Use, Implementers Series, (UPC-1) CORE Course Colombo, Sri Lanka 15-20 May -2017. ISSUP - International Society of Substance Use Professionals- Bangkok, Thailand-215. ASCAD International Conference & Workshop for DDR Specialists 2014 in Melaka, Malaysia; 6th Asian Youth Congress in Bali, Indonesia; 8th Asian Youth Congress Pario, Bhutan; 3rd Great Anatolian Meeting of the World Cultures; and Youth International Delphic Festival in Ankara, Turkey. He also visited Afghanistan at the request of the US Department of State for the 1st Afghan Youth Congress in Kabul, Afghanistan where he helped deliver skills to Afghan youth to help curb the use of narcotics. In addition to being a 2012 ELP Fellow United States of America (USA), He is part of Inspire a Generation: The Fellowship, an initiative of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). He is also Grant Awarded from the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan-Pak US Alumni Network (The “Fund” or “USEFP-PUAN”) for the project, entitled “Drug Free School Campaign Karachi, Pakistan
