Presenter:
Dr. Chinyere C. Okonkwo
Dr. Okonkwo holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology and she is a licensed Clinical Psychologist. Through the Fulbright scholarship award, she did her Fellowship program (Hubert Humphrey Fellowship) at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond VA, USA, on Substance Abuse Education, Prevention, and Treatment. In addition to her training in substance abuse management, she was exposed to various psychological treatment modalities as well as trauma and disaster management, crisis intervention, motivational interventions, etc. She is also an International Certified Addiction Professional (ICAP I & II) and a United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) global trainer on Drug Demand Reduction.
Presently, she works as an Assistant Director of Clinical Psychological Services and the coordinator of psychological interventions for substance use disorder patients at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Yaba, Lagos state, Nigeria.
