- Drinking behaviours are more prevalent in younger, single or divorced individuals.
- Lifestyle factors (e.g. health consciousness) are important predictors of drinking behaviours.
- Self-reported diabetes is strongly and inversely related to drinking behaviours.
- Heavy episodic drinking and drinking and driving are particularly problematic in Brazil.
